VFW Post 3088 is bringing author John Armbruster to Southern Door auditorium to talk about his book, Tailspin. .Armbruster tells how tailgunner Gene Moran fell 4.5 miles to the ground without a parachute after his B17 was shot down over Germany during WWII. He spent the next 18 months as a POW before returning home to Soldiers Grove in southwest Wisconsin. Armbruster will share the story Gene Moran had kept to himself for 50 years.Armbruster's program will be at 7 p.m. Friday Jan 24 at SD Auditorium. The program is free, but donations are accepted. He also will talk to HS students that afternoon.
