VFW Post 3088 is bringing author John Armbruster to Southern Door auditorium to talk about his book, Tailspin. .

Armbruster tells how tailgunner Gene Moran fell 4.5 miles to the ground without a parachute after his B17 was shot down over Germany during WWII. He spent the next 18 months as a POW before returning home to Soldiers Grove in southwest Wisconsin. Armbruster will share the story Gene Moran had kept to himself for 50 years.

Armbruster's program will be at 7 p.m. Friday Jan 24 at SD Auditorium.  The program is free, but donations are accepted. He also will talk to HS students that afternoon.

• We are currently sending out letters to local businesses requesting their sponsorship of our website for 2025, Although the cost of the website is covered with only three sponsors we have found this to be a very good way to raise much needed funds for the post. Sponsorship is only ten dollars a month payable by the year for $120.
